Owl in Tree Brooch
This owl is perfectly snug in his tree hole keeping a vigilant eye on his surroundings.
I begin with a piece of brass that I reticulate then I repoussé a piece of copper bonded to a layer of sterling silver into which I carve the owl detail.
The bough is cast in bronze. The nickel pin back is soldered into place and the pin length is cut to fit. it has a safety closure so you won’t loose this brooch.
