The Ship's Cat Necklace
Based on a fantasy inspired by my cat Zoe aka The ship’s cat who is ferociously guarding one of the pirate captains jewels, a giant cubic zirconium, thats has got lost in the wood work .
Brutus and Big Boy hold the rotten planks and chains together with their tails. as the little ones escape.
The rats of this necklace and the planks has been created from scratch using original art work in wax and cast in recycled foundry bronze. The anchor clasp is also cast but in recycled silver (925).
The Ships Cat’s face, peering through a hole in the ships planking, is silver(925) soldered to a back plate of copper and carved. the necklace is adjustable and can be set at 16”, 17” and 18”.
I have spent a lot of time hand finishing the necklace and it is eminently wearable however some care should be applied by the wearer of this mixed metal art, because of the cats fine silver whiskers and the CZ mounted on the main pendant.
